Guest Mode on iPhone

I cannot find the Guest Mode in Google Home or anywhere else for that matter.

The Chromecast does show up in Google Home.

I am using Google Home on an iPhone 13 running iOS 15.6.1.

What am I missing?

Hey there jackscruby7,

Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! I would encourage you to check out this article for more information on Guest Mode and where to find it. Here is where it is in the Google Home app:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings and then Recognition & sharing and then Guest mode.
  4. Turn on Guest mode On.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran

Thanks but this is exactly the problem that I was reporting. There is no Guest mode under Recognition & sharing on my Google Home app.

Hiya jackscruby7,

No problem at all. Do you have Local Network Access enabled? Here is how to check for that:

  1. On the iOS device’s home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Privacy and then Local Network. They'll find a list of apps.
  3. Turn on Local Network Access for the app(s) the customer would like to cast from. This will allow permissions for Cast to discover local devices when casting.

Let me know if that allows Guest Mode to show up. Also, make sure that your Google Home app is up-to-date as well.

Best regards,

Jeran
