Home app has no Settings icon

After updating my Home app on Android to Version 2.52.41.5, the Settings gear is no longer there.

I cannot reboot my Chromecast 2 from the app.

They are on the same WiFi and I can cast to it.  I have tried rebooting both manually to see of the Settings gear reappeared - no luck.

Hi IreneR,

 

Thanks for reaching out. The Google Home App 2.53 update has already begun rolling out to customers. Could you please check and update your Google Home app again and see if this will fix the issue? You may also try to reboot your mobile phone and check if your phone's OS is updated. Using a different mobile phone to isolate the issue might also help.

Thanks for reaching out again.  The 2.53 is not available on the Google Store for my Pixel 5.  

I tried the other things you suggested and no luck.  I tried to upload an image of the screen without the Setting gear but don't have permission

Hey IreneR,

 

Thanks for getting back to us and for trying the suggested steps. Could you please reinstall the Google Home app on your Pixel 5 phone? Also, turn off/on the Wi-Fi on your mobile phone and check again. Resetting your Chromecast and setting it up again might also help.

Yes I saw your suggestions and tried them with no change.  V2.53 is still not available
