I can't seem to disable YouTube recommendations on my Chromecast. I also have a smart tv with Googletv built in and it's simple to disable YouTube recommendations, but in the equivalent menu on my Chromecast, YouTube isn't an option. Is it buried somewhere else or is Google forcing it on the Chromecast users and for some reason not keeping feature parity with the smart tv integrated software version?

You can disable individual videos by loading YouTube and go the particular video and holding down the select button on your Chromecast Remote. This opens up a menu with a list of the options for the video, one of which is "Not interested". Click on that and this is followed by two options, "I've already watched this video or "I don't like this video". Click on whichever is appropriate! and a message will briefly appear "Got it. We'll tune your recommendations" and the video disappears from your list. Can't find one that you can apply other than one by one.

Thanks, but my question is actually about the 2 full rows of populated content, regardless of watch history. Not specific videos. Even removing specific videos just forces new ones to populate

Hi folks,
Thanks for helping out, @Arandora1.
@Rj49, thank you for the details. You can try via Google TV settings > Accounts and Sign In > Content preference. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks,
Kimy

Hey everyone,
Just one quick final follow up since activity has slowed down. We'll be locking the thread in the next 24 hours, but if you still need help, I would be happy to keep it open. If there's more we can do, just let me know.
Best,
Princess
