How do I set output resolution fixed for what old TV can show?

hi - I have just bought an 3rd gen Chromecast (not TV version). I am using it on an old TV, with conversion to a DVI input in the TV the TV does NOT have a HDMI input, only DVI).

The Chromecast only shows part of pause photos, of casting stuff either its from iPhone or Windows Chrome browser.

For now I cannot use the Chromecast. I need a way to force the Chromecast to always send out in displaymode either 1360x768 or 1024x768.

Hope you can help.

Kind regards

/ebbe

Hello ebbe,

Thanks for reaching out. The Chromecast devices are intended to be connected to an HDMI port of a TV to fully use the device. I'd suggest you plug in the Chromecast on a different TV screen that has an HDMI port. You can check this support website article to see the requirements to use the Chromecast device.

Thanks,

Jennifer

hi Jennifer,

That is not an option, no. I bought the Chromecast hoping that it would be versatile enough to support this setup. I'm a little disappointed here, thought the Chromecast offered more possibilities.

Now I may look elsewhere for a different solution - either an Apple TV, a stick-computer or e.g. an Arduino.

Regards, Ebbe
