I just bought a Chromecast and I get a picture and audio on the tv but it doesn't show any video

Unsure that both Chromecast device and your phone are connected to the same WiFi network.
Cast from cast compatible applications or from Google Chrome browser.
Where cast option is not available, open Google Home application and select Cast my screen.
