Hi everyone,
I bought a Chromecast in order to listen to audio (Spotify/radio) using the speakers connected to my TV (streaming from a computer or smartphone). I just connected my Chromecast to my TV but I am unable to listen to just audio with a black TV screen (the TV mandatorily streams the artist's pictures from Spotify).
My speakers do not have Bluetooth and the TV must be turned on for them to work. Can anyone help me get rid of the pictures on my TV while still listening to music? It would be much appreciated!
Best regards,
Jeroen

I'm sorry, you can't turn off that screen.
Each app decides what to show on your TV when you are playing music. I would suggest you contact Spotify and tell them you would like an option to turn off the display (or show a minimal display).

That is too bad. Thank you for your fast response though. I will try and contact spotify then.

Use a HDMI switch with audio extractor between the Chromecast device and the TV.
Connect the HDMI switch audio outputs (RCA, Jack, digital coaxial or digital optical) to a digital to analog converter or any audio equipment with audio inputs (stereo amplifier, AV receiver, pa mixer, DJ mixer, audio interface or active speakers).
You can turn off or on your TV whenever you want.

Thanks! I'll consider that. Too bad it's twice as expensive as the Chromecast itself.
