Issue casting and trying to update firmware

Lefty
Community Member

Hi

i have issues casting from my spark aport app. It keeps freezing. Their help desk tried to tell me I’m using a gen 1 chromecast which I am not.

my firmware is 1.56.275994 which I think is old but it won’t update past that. I saw something about that version won’t connect to 5G wifi. Would love to be able to connect to that.

all other apps cast 100% perfect. So am unsure why this website/app won’t.

thanks

Hey there Lefty,

I am sorry about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I know I'd be disappointed if I couldn't cast from my favorite app, while other apps worked fine. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Is your Google Home app up-to-date?
  • Have you tried clearing out the cached data from the app?
  • Are you able to cast from another device, such as a computer or tablet?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
