Issue with Chromecast and google assistant

I just got the new Chromecast 4k with Google tv and I'm running into a problem. When I play Spotify on the Chromecast, and I ask my Google nest hub or Google home device to stop the music (hey Google, 'stop'). Nothing happens. With my old Chromecast (2nd gen), everything worked and the Chromecast stopped playing. Does any one know why this simple command doesn't work anymore and how to fix it?

It seems I'm having multiple issues. If I ask my nest hub to play a radio station on TuneIn on the Google TV it says: sorry I cant do that yet. Also when I ask my nest hub to play on my speaker group (with Google tv and google home) it says there has been an error and try again later. Something is messed up since this new Google tv device, I did not have any problem with my old chromecast

I'm sorry to hear that your Google Assistant is having issues with your Chromecast with Google TV. I can imagine this issue is pretty confusing since there are multiple devices at play, so I'd be happy to help where I can. Go ahead and give these steps a try:

  1. Make sure the Google Home app is up-to-date.
  2. Make sure the Chromecast with Google TV's firmware is up-to-date.
  3. Check your Google TV settings to see if Apps only mode is disabled.
  4. Remove the Chromecast from Google Home, and re-add it.
  5. Factory reset the Chromecast device.

If the problem persists, you may need to reach out to the Google Assistant forum, since they are more well versed in the nuances of the Google Assistant. I look forward to your response, and if you had any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

I tried all but nothing helps. Maybe my Assistant is just stubborn and needs to learn this new device...I will go to the Google Assistant forum to see if they know any solution then.
