Issues with Chromecast w/Google TV & Google TV

Over the last week or so, the audio is out of sync and random black screens are appearing(at least on CNN).  Energy optimization is turned off for yttv app.  I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.  When the black screens happen, it's for about 15-30 seconds or so in random spots in the programming.  Once the picture and sound come back, the audio is usually significantly out of sync.  All other streaming apps are fine.  Only YouTube TV is affected.  I'm not casting from my phone, but using the app on the device itself.

Has anyone else had this crop up in the same timeframe?  I've turned game mode off also.  I do not have any additional audio equipment connected to the TV so incompatibility shouldn't be an issue so suddenly like this.  Not sure what could be wrong.

I apologize about the late response on this thread, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that YouTube TV issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know those issues make for an unwatchable experience. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

 

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
  • Have you tried clearing out the cached data on the YouTube TV app?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
