Original Poster:G L 8493!!

I want to stop other people receiving a notification and being able to control a Chromecast. However when following your instructions to disable this in the setting of the device on google home no options appear.

Hello, thanks for taking the time to post your issue.
 
Try the following steps
 
Your phone or tablet needs to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Chromecast.
  1. Open the Google Home app
  2. Tap your device’s icon.
  3. At the top right, tap Settings > Recognition & sharing > Guest mode.
  4. Turn OFF Guest mode pull slider to the Left.
