My Chromecast set up is stuck in a loop

Hello, I have followed all instructions given in the home app and am at what I believe is the final hurdle.

I go into the home app select to add a new device, select chrome cast get a screen telling me to plug it in and wait 45secs. I select next after the device has powered up then come back to the screen asking what I would like to set up.

 

The Chromecast was a Christmas gift and am trying to set it up on a non-smart tv to gain all the features of a smart tv.

I was playing on my phone and it started streaming so its all solved thank you!
