My Toshiba 43l621u tv with built in chromecast stopped working

So when I turn it on the screen boots the chromecast normally and then a loading ring comes up and spins a few times and then the screen goes black. I can still cast to it normally and the sound plays as it should and my home device says it's connected and I can hear it but black screen. I have tried a reboot, a factory reset, unplugging, switching hdmi slots, removing the device and adding it again. One post suggested holding the power button in until you get past the chromecat boot screen but that didn't work either.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advanced for your time and effort.

Hello Eswine77,

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. To confirm, do you have a separate Chromecast dongle? If yes, what type of Chromecast device do you have? Has there been any changes in the router settings?

Try these steps:

  1. Check if the Chromecast firmware is updated.
  2. Make sure that the Android or iOS device is up-to-date.
  3. Check proximity of TV to casting device (phone, tablet, or computer), and Wi-Fi router. Ideally, they should be less than 15 to 20 feet (4 to 6 meters) apart from each other, with one or no walls in between.
  4. Reboot your casting device ( mobile phone, tablet, or computer).
  5. Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
  6. Disconnect and reconnect the casting device from the Wi-Fi network.
  7. Check if your device or laptop has a power saving setting. If it's enabled, disable it.
  8. Perform another factory reset on your Chromecast.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Jennifer
