We bought this chromecast a couple months ago and pretty consistently it crashes at least once a day. Initially we blamed it on the Paramount+ app (which admittedly is quite buggy) but we have another, older chromecast in a different room that doesn’t have these problems. Sometimes the movie/TV show in question will freeze, and then the chromecast completely disconnects from the TV, and the Home app eventually reconnects, but lately there’s no notice before the screen goes black. We swapped this chromecast with the older one to see if it was the apps or the TVs, but it is only the chromecast that is causing it. It has happened while watching HBOMax, Paramount+ and Hulu. Factory resets and restarting have not resolved it. Is it just faulty? Anything else I can try?

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Please try to plug in the Chromecast you're having an issue on a different HDMI port on your TV and if you haven't tried to plug it in on a different TV screen, please try it and observe the behavior.

Hi,
As I said in my original post, I’ve done both—I’ve plugged it into other TVs and other HDMI ports on this same TV and still having this issue.

Hi Jennifer,
When I try to submit the form, I get an error message "Refresh this page and try again. Sorry, there was a problem with the form." It happens regardless of what browser I use. Thoughts?
