My chromecast is constantly blinking orange.

Let us know what happens and what you see on your screen.

If you really DO have a 1st Generation Chromecast, those haven't been sold since 2015.  It may be time to upgrade to a newer model.  The new devices have a lot more power and better wifi radios in them.
