My chromecast remote isnt working and the light wont go off

MY Chromecast remote LED won't turn off and it won't respond ( I have tried multiple times to reset it and removed the batteries many times) the LED wont turn off and is stuck at a solid white,

Hey there friendlyflyer0,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to get the Chromecast Voice Remote working again? If not, I'd be happy to help out! Now, with the LED light being a solid white, that means one of two things:

  • The microphone is on
  • A firmware update is applying. (Note: The mic is not open during firmware updates.) 

First, I would make sure that the microphone button isn't stuck or that there isn't any kind of dust or dirt inside the remote. Then, I would leave the remote sitting for a few minutes without removing the batteries, so it can finish the firmware update.
