Nest cam not showing on chromecast with google tv even though it says it is

Hi, first post ever. I used to be able to ask google to show me the doorbell and it sure it on my google chromecast with google tv but not anymore. It says it is but does nothing. "Got it, streaming the doorbell on Master Bedroom TV." Then nothing. Same for the other new camera I just installed. The battery security cam. Anyone know how to fix this? Hopefully I don't have to remove and reinstall everything.

Hey there JonTricco,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that camera issue? If not, I'd be happy to help you figure this out. There are a few possible explanations for why this might be happening. If you are not sure what is causing the problem, you can try the following steps:

  • Check the status of your doorbell and camera in the Google Home app. If they are not connected to the internet, try connecting them again.
  • Restart your Chromecast with Google TV.
  • Update your Chromecast with Google TV software.
  • Restart your Google Home app.
  • Update your Google Home app software.

If none of those steps work, go ahead and disconnect the doorbell from the Google Home app and reconnect it. Check out this article for more information.

I look forward to your response on this, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

Hello Jeran,

Sorry, I've been busy as well. I tried restarting the Google chromecast with google TV and same issue. The cameras work perfectly in the Google home app on my phone. All apps are up to date. Outside of removing the cameras and adding them again I don't know what else to do at this point. I'm just concerned I'll have to go remove the cameras from their positions in order to reset them too to add them back. It's also strange that since the new update to the Google chromecast interface happened, and also after installing the new camera (perhaps just coinncidental) that neither camera will display. I know for a fact that before the interface update to Google TV that the doorbell did work. Any further suggestions??

Thanks,

Jonathan Tricco

Hiya JonTricco,

Once again, I apologize for the slow response time. In this case, it may be best to speak with Chromecast Support regarding this issue. If you don't mind, would you be able to fill out this form to have them reach out to you via email? Just let me know once you do so!

Best regards,
Jeran

Awesome, thank you for doing that! You should have someone from Chromecast support email within a few days, so keep an eye out in your email. In the meantime, do you have any more questions that I can address? If not, I'll go ahead and lock this thread in 24 hours.
