New Google TV Remote App does not auto reconnect to CCwGTV

With the new "remote app" that is part Google TV I see problems using the remote after phone sleeps then wakes.

If I connect the phone/app to my CCwGTV dongle basic remote function work fine, start watching a tv show, after 5 to 10 minutes a commercial starts, pick up the phone and the remote app shows it is not connected and looking for a CCwGTV device.

Fiddle around for 5 to 10 seconds to get remote app connected, use app to skip commercials and start watching. TV show plays fine for next 10 minutes or so until it hits the next commercial. Try to use remote app skip ahead and disconnected again. Have to fiddle around to get remote app and CCwGTV reconnected.

This happens OVER and OVER again at each commercial break. While watching shows, phone is sitting idle, goes into a blank screen idle state. When phone wakes up the remote app does not auto reconnect.

Looks like the remote app does NOT remember the previously connected CCwGTV device, or has problems getting reconnected.

Up to last week the original/older Android TV Remote APP worked cleanly, always did fast reconnect to CCwGTV and would let me quickly skip commercials without need to fiddle around and get reconnect with CCwGTV. But google has disabled using the old Android TV Remote APP  that worked reliably and forces me to use the new Google TV Remote App that does NOT auto reconnect.

Are there any plans to fix the new Remote APP so it does correct, clean, fast auto reconnect to CCwGTV?

I have a few more comments and observations about TV Remote App problems reconnecting to the CCwGTV.

1. If I close then open the Remote App, it quickly auto reconnects to the last CCwGTV device I was using. The problem seems to be a side effect of the smartphone entering a "sleep" state then resuming and seeing long delay when it looks for the CCwGTV that was last used. Sometimes takes 10+ seconds to see the previous CCwGTV device.

2. If the Remote App is spinning looking for the previous device, if I press "select a device" twice it speeds up finding available CCwGTV devices. I still have to select the device, but it finds it sooner.

Interesting, I haven't heard personally about those issues with the TV remote app. If you have the time, would you be willing to submit feedback via the Google Home app with logs enabled, so that our engineering team would be able to look deeper in the issue? That would be extremely helpful!
