No audio from Youtube videos when casting. Netfliz works just fine

Allright so suddently my youtube casting has become hell. (On android cellphone S10)

It was working fine for almost 2 years now but it randomly stopped working.

 

I dont get any audio from the videos i cast.

I still get the video, which works just fine.

 

But no audio.

 

Netflix is okay, i got sound and video.

It seems like its only on youtube..

 

I tried to reboot both tv and cellphone, disconnect reconnect, set up new home, updated youtube app, tried to launch from internet browser.

Disconnected tv power for 5 mins.

Restarted cellphone.

Audio is enabled on both tv and youtube.

 

I just cant get the audio back.

 

Please help

I'm real sorry about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to fix that audio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • What type of Chromecast do you have?
  • Did this issue happen with both the YouTube app and the website?
  • Does this issue happen when you cast from a different device, such as a computer or tablet?

Hey

 

 

Yes I still have the same problem.

 

 

It started around 1 1/2month ago.

 

 

 

The chromecast is built-in tv Philips

 

 

The error is happening when i try to chromecast using the youtube app on my galaxy phone or youtube on internet browser. (We also tried on my girlfriend's iphone)

 

 

The chromecasting works fine for Netflix.

 

 

It seems like its only for Youtube, video is okay but theres no audio.

 

 

We also tried from the computer to cast to tv and it seems like its not working neither.

 

 

I tried to redownload and reconnect google home on my cellphone, disconnect internet, power off the tv for minutes and pretty much anything i found on the internet, with no sucess.

 

 

Chromecast works for everything else except Youtube.

Thank you for your response, let me just ask you something else:

  • Is the TV connected to an external receiver, soundbar, or speakers?
  • Is the TV on mute? (Sorry for the dumb question, I just have to ask!)

For now, I would make sure to check the following:

  • Check to make sure your TV's firmware is up-to-date.
  • Make sure the sound is enabled on YouTube and the TV/Soundbar.
  • Make sure the Google Home app is up-to-date.

With the sound not working on only one application/website, it leads me to believe the issue may be on YouTube's side of things. I would encourage you to reach out to YouTube support to see if they are aware of any issues on their end.
