No picture

I have connected to my chromecast(gen 1) however no picture is showing up on my TV. My TV is giving me an error message saying, “change resolution on external device.”  Anyone seen this?

We hope you were able to get the help you need but if you're still having trouble, please give these steps a try: 

 

  • Make sure your TV is on the right input where your Chromecast is plugged in.
  • Reboot your Chromecast
  • Try plugging it into a different HDMI port or TV
  • Reset your Chromecast
