One phone can't Chromecast as connected to wifi

All other devices (phones, PCs, etc) can see the Chromecast, but their phone cannot view the Chromecast as available. We've tried every option written online for troubleshooting: rebooting, resetting Chromecast, rebooting phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and more.

I can't find a reason for this chromecast problem as it's only on one device. I suspect the phone is the culprit, but I can't nail down how or why.

Hey there Zygouth,

I'm sorry to hear that one of your devices is having some connection issues. I'd be happy to help you locate the issue, as I can imagine it's pretty confusing. Let me just ask you a couple of questions about the phone:

  • What model of phone are you using?
  • What version of Android/iOS is the phone running?
  • Is the phone up-to-date?

If you are using an Android, make sure to turn off "Power Saving Mode", as well as the "Microphone" permission in the Google Play Services app needs to be turned on to successfully use the "Cast Screen / Audio" feature with Chromecast (This only applies to casting your screen). Here is a list of Chromecast requirements, I would make sure the device meets the requirements.

I look forward to your response, and if you had any other questions or concerns, please let me know.

Best regards,

Jeran
