Only video options are showing when casting from browser

Hello!  I am trying to cast streaming music from my chrome browser to my chromecast audio.  Problem is, when I click the casting icon on my broser tab, the only options available are the televisions in my house. The handful of chromecast audios are not appearing as options.

After an update of the chrome browser + a restart of the laptop, I am now able to see my audio-only devices.

Thanks very much for taking the time Jill.

Hi there,

Try rebooting your network and if that doesn't help try factory resetting the Chromecast Audio devices.

If you are still having trouble please confirm that you are using the older round Chromecast audio dongles.

Do the devices show from a supported music service such as YouTube Music on your computer or from that app on mobile?

Thanks!

Hi Jill thanks for the reply.  Rebooting the network and resetting the chromecast (which is the first gen old one) do not resolve the issue.

The issue seems to be on my laptop.  For example:
-If I cast Youtube via Chrome - I get video only options

-If I cast Spotify via my laptop's windows application - I get video only options + my android phone as an option

-If I cast Spotify or any other casting app via my android phone - I correctly get all video and non-video options on my network

And the laptop and Chromecasts are 100 percent on the same wifi. Double check.  Reboot your laptop.

Update the Chrome browser and I will some research---

Okay, just tested here with my CCAudio. I found Spotify etc working fine and was able to cast audio from the browser. Audio device shows up as expected.

Check the menu for sources on the Chrome casting button.

Three button menu Chrome/Cast...>Sources. See that Cast tab is checked.
