Pairing Sony's new WF-1000XM4 wireless earbuds to chromecast -No Audio

Earbuds connect and can control the playback of the chromecast, but I receive no audio. Chromecast is up to date.

Hi @Qualia, you probably get no sound because the codec for Bluetooth audio isn't there. If I had to guess the signal is processed by the TV which then sends it to the speakers, the audio processing isn't handled on the CCwGTV device itself hence no sound with a direct connection. Once connected, is there an audio option in the Bluetooth connection? Maybe your TV has a BT option and you can connect the earpieces to it for sound.

I played around a little more with it and I believe it probably has to do with whatever audio codec is playing. I can hear audio when I play different movies. I could even get the audio to play from the film I was originally trying to watch on Disney+ when I switch the audio playback option from 'English' to 'English w/ audio description' (for the visually impaired). I'm guessing is a different codec.

So what I'm guessing is the the WF-1000XM4 can only process and play back certain codecs or the chromecast's bluetooth can only transmit certain ones.

I kinda had hopes for it with today's chromecast update, but no luck.

Does your TV have bluetooth? Mine does, so if yours has it maybe try connecting that way.
