Please help me set up Chromecast! Wifi not showing.

I bought this device today, and the set up process all goes smoothly until I get to the stage where I am prompted to choose which wifi.  The list never includes the wifi used by the TV/phone/tablet etc at this end of the house.  It does include the wifi at the other end of the house, but the signal isn't strong enough to support much, hence the boosted wifi at this end.  After hours trying everything I could think of, including getting in a professional wifi expert, who fixes Chromecast issues all the time, the wifi we need still isn't showing up, even though both my phone and the TV are using it.  Frustrating is hardly the word - this is the short version, btw!  Any solution, at this stage, would appear miraculous!

If you use a WiFi repeater, lose it.

Get a second WiFi router and connect it with the main WiFi router via ethernet cable.

Place the second WiFi router in the same room with your Chromecast device.

Alternatively, you can connect the Chromecast device directly to Internet using an USB-C ethernet adapter.

Thank you for this suggestion. 

Can you please explain why Chromecast doesn't work with what we call boosters here in Australia?

Boosters do not use the whole bandwidth available. You use it for simple tasks which do not require high data rate transfers.
