Hello, I cannot find this info on any of the official Chromecast sites.
I don't have a wifi router or wifi network. I don't have home internet.
I want to use a Chromecast to put video from my phone (YouTube) onto a dumb TV with an HDMI connected Chromecast dongle.
I can create a wifi hotspot with my phone. However, this would be the same device that I want to cast onto my TV.
Is this possible? Or is there something in the way this dongle works to prevent me from using my phone to create the wifi connection and to send this wifi signal to my tv at the same time? I hope I explained this well. I'm happy to clarify if it doesn't make sense.
This would be the reason I would or would not buy the dongle because I don't think I'll have a home bet connection in the near future, as my apartment building will be undergoing earthquake remodeling for 2 years, so I don't know where I'm going to be during that time.
Thank you for your time.

If you want to use a phone as a hotspot, you'll need two phones or tablets to set that up.
