Power button setup on remote control

Amy11

Since it's possible to configure different devices for Power and Volume it should be possible to add both devices on the Power on/off option.

I would like to turn my TV and Sound Bar on/off with the Power button.

Although I can control the volume of the sound bar with the Chromecast remote, I still need the Sound Bar remote to turn it on/off.

Can you add the option to select 2+ devices on the Power option?

Power control is an available feature already if the brand/model of device you have is supported.

  1. At the top right of the screen, select your profile then the settings cog.
  2. Select Remotes & Accessories > Set up remote buttons.
  3. Select Power and then the device you want to turn on and off with the remote.
  4. Turn off your device by pressing the power button on the remote and then wait 8 seconds and then turn the device back on.
  5. In the section “Did the power button work?” select Yes or No, try again.

If it doesn't work, unfortunately, it would be impossible for Google to list absolutely every brand/manufacturer. You can use some trial and error by selecting the other manufacturer's listed. Alternatively, try a Google search or see if they have forums to see if someone else may have found one that works for your device brand/model.
