I've recently upgraded my Chromecast to a Chromecast with Google TV. In the past, when I was using the regular Chromecast, I would ask my Nest Audio to "Play Friends" for example, and the TV would automatically turn on and start playing Friends on Netflix. Now that I'm using the Chromecast with Google TV, I use the same command, the TV turns on but I'm presented with the Google TV home screen. I have to repeat the request in order for the show to start playing.
Any ideas?

Hey there Nathan,

I'm sorry about my late response, thank you for being patient! Are you still having this assistant issue with your Chromecast? If so, I'd be more than happy to take a look, let me just ask you some questions first:

  • When did you first encounter this issue?
  • Does this only occur with shows on Netflix, or other apps as well?
  • Does it only take two attempts when the TV is off?

I look forward to your response, and if you had any other questions or concerns, please let me know. I'm always happy to help!

Best regards,

Jeran
