I just bought a chromecast from Walmart last week I have installed Google home app on my phone which run newest other devices the new chromecast I just bought I do everything I'm supposed to do follow everything head to toe and this thing says updating and keeps jumping off the Wi-Fi I've tried to update it numerous freaking times getting tired of this piece of s***

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Chromecast. Let's sort this out.

 

A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? How far is it from the Wi-Fi router? What mobile phone are you using to set up your device?

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  1. Reboot your Wi-Fi router.
  2. Move the devices closer to each other. The Chromecast must be within 15 to 20 feet of the setup device and the Wi-Fi router.
  3. Use a different mobile phone to set up your device.
  4. Plug it in on a different HDMI port on your TV.
  5. If one is available, plug it in on a different TV screen.
  6. Reset your Chromecast.
