Red/pink screen

Hi, I recently purchased another chromecast as I thought my old one had been misplaced when I moved. So I bought another. One day the screen on my TV went pink and a little fuzzy. I thought it was my whole television that was broken for ages until we noticed the screen was fine when not using the chromecast. Strangely enough I had actually found our old one the day before! And so I thought sweet, I'll take this new one back. Started using my old one again and it was working fine now it's doing the same?? I have done factory resets and reboots. Nothing will fix it..please help

Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Chromecast device. Please try the steps below:

 

  1. Unplug, then re-plug the Chromecast in the High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) port, ensuring the connector is plugged all the way in.
  2. Use the TV or HDMI extender.
  3. Plug in the Chromecast into other HDMI ports on the same TV.
    • If the issue is reproducible on all HDMI ports, it's likely that your TV make and model has compatibility issues with Chromecast.
  4. Use the Chromecast with another TV or HDMI display, if possible.
