Reduce volume on TV when assistant is listening

Hi.

Just upgraded my chromecast Gen 3 to chromecast with google tv. It's great, but I have one frustration.

When I say "okey google" to my nest mini, my TV doesn't reduce the volume anymore to listen better for a command. (like "pause" or "skip ahead 2 minutes")

I have read that the news chromecast doesn't support this feature when casting from phone. But I could do this just fine on my old chromecast. Kidna a bummer.

Any reason things are this way?

Hi Azazel,

Thanks for posting. Could you confirm if this is also happening when using the Google Assistant button on your Voice Remote? Also, how far apart are your devices from each other? Please try to reboot your Nest Mini then say a command "Hey Google, sync my devices".

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer. Sorry for the late reply.

When using the voice button, the video stops. That's works great, but I want to be able to ask it to do things like pause, without the remote, like I used to be able to do on my old device.

TV and nest mini are right next to each other. That's why it doesn't understand me when the TV is on.

Everything is synced up, and I have restarted everything
