Is it fine to leave my Chromecast 3rd Generation plugged in and switched on 24/7, even when the TV is powered off? Will it reduce the lifespan of the Chromecast or overheat the Chromecast or pose a fire risk? If so, how do I switch it off when not in use? Thanks in advance.

HI there,

The Chromecast devices are meant to stay plugged into power. It is best to leave the Chromecast plugged in and ready to get over the air updates and so that it is always ready for you to use.
I leave all my Chromecasts powered and ready to go.

Hope that helps,
Jill
