Sound issue: only sound on projector no possibility to connect to bluetooth device

Our school has been using chromecast connected to projectors since September which worked really well with our chromebooks. As the speakers on the projectors are of mediocre quality we would use a bluetooth speaker. Since the new update we no longer have this option. Is this specific to the update? Is there a possibility to fix this issue. We have tried all other options but as soon as we cast via the chromecast the sound will only play on the projector.

A few questions: What type of Chromecast device do you have? What Bluetooth speakers are you using? Are you getting any messages when pairing it via Bluetooth?

We are using the 3rd generation chromecast. Our speakers vary from teacher to teacher. The issue is the same with all of them. Once we start casting via chromecast, the sound will only play on the projector and we can't use the bluetooth device. I have tried with different devices and the problem stays the same. There are no messages. As soon as I stop casting, I can connect to the bluetooth device.  These problems started after the Google 100 update.

Sorry for the late response. Could you confirm where the Bluetooth Speakers are connected to, is it to the projector or to your phone? 

 

Please take note that we can't separate the video and audio when casting. Also, only Chromecast with Google TV can be paired to Bluetooth devices. However, you can still route the audio if your projector has an auxiliary port and has an option to hardwire your Bluetooth speaker using 3.5 mm cable.
