Stuttering after firmware update

AdamLewa

After apparent recent firmware update audio streaming (Chrome, Win10) became annoyingly choppy. The sound is stuttering which makes the device practically unusable. How can I restore the previous version of the firmware?

Hey there AdamLewa,

I am sorry about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to fix that stuttering issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I know that would annoy myself as well. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
  • Is your Google Home app and Google Chrome up-to-date?
  • Does this issue occur when casting a tab, or casting your desktop?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

There isn't a way to restore to previous firmware versions, but there has been an update since this thread has been made. I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran
