USB C hub for Chromecast with Google TV HD

Hi, I purchased a 60w USB C hub and 45w USB C charger so I could attached a USB dongle for a blue tooth mouse and keyboard, a USB flash drive for extra memory and a USB external hard drive. But when powered on the Chromecast turned on and worked as normal but the accessories were not recognised at all. Any advice on how to get Chromecast to recognise the accessories?

Hi Jeran,

Thanks, I eventually got the system to work. I saw the link you referred to. I returned the 60w USB C hub and 45w USB C charger and then purchased a Vemont USB C hub with 100w PD and a Anker 65w USB C charger from Amazon. I also bought a 100w USB C to USB C cable. So far the bluetooth mouse and keyboard, the USB flash drive and external drive are working perfectly.

Best regards,

Deacs.

Hey there Deacs,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to connect your mouse and keyboard to your Chromecast? If not, I'd be happy to help out. First, I would check to make sure that your USB hub meets the Chromecast requirements. I also found online that if you're going to use a USB-C hub with your Chromecast with Google TV, you need more power, so a 65W Power Delivery Charger or a 90-100W Power Delivery Charger would ensure that your USB-C hub pulls a few watts and your external drive pulls a few more, but you still have plenty of power for everything to run properly. However, some people use a 45-watt charger with the Chromecast and Google TV. Check out this link for more information.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran
