Unable to activate developer mode in Google Chromecast with Google TV

I've tried clicking on Settings>System>About> Android TV OS build many many time to no results... doesn't do anything other than the light animation of the box getting clicked.

Build QTS1.210311.A2.7686849

Contact Google support via message board and ask for confirmation. Provide a serial number if necessary to confirm its authenticity.

Your software version is not listed under official software update history for Chromecast with Google TV.

It may be an early release of the software update due to roll out by the end of the year or it could be a fake product.

Just to be shure, inspect your Chromecast device and look for the letter "G" on its surface. If it's a "C" instead of a "G", that's not good.

Inspect the packaging and logo for the letter "G". If it's not embossed, it's not good.

Contacted Google support chat. They ended up asking me to send back to get a replacement unit

I have the same problem. Just picked up my 3rd Google TV from Walmart and this is the first to have a problem.

QTS1.210311.017.A2.7686849

It was the last one they had so I will try again in the morning and if it doesn't, to Best Buy I go and this one goes back.
