I hope that I'm in the correct community.
There's a rumor online that Google will update the Chromecast dongle with a new dongle. With more memory, I hope.
Do you know anything about that? The current dongle is about 3 years old, isn't it?

Until it's officially announced everything is speculation of course. They just released the HD version of Chromecast with Google TV not long ago so that's technically the newest model, with the 4k being a few years old.
Truthfully I use my 4k version daily, have had it since it launched, and never had an issue. Occupancy reboot/power cycle it just to ensure the ram clears, but working well and don't think more ram would make a huge difference for my use case, but to each their own!
