Voice Commands

I have two Chromecasts with Google TV connected to two TVs and they both have the same problem.  Until about 3 days ago,  all Google TV channels responded to voice commands on both TVs.  Now, voice commands will select some channels but not others (ex. "Fox Business" responds,  "Fox News" does not respond).   If a channel does not respond, a message appears on the top of the TV screen that says "......   is not available or can't be played right now".  I can play the channels in question by selecting it from the "Live Schedule".  I have rebooted the Chromecast and the problem is the same as before the reboot.  Thanks for any help.    zaq007

Hey there zaq007,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that Assistant issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • What is the firmware version of your Chromecast devices?
  • What version of the Google Home app are you using?
  • Do you have any more examples of what commands work/don't work?

For now, I would check out this article on troubleshooting your Google TV device, and then follow the steps inside.

The problem resolved itself, I have no idea how. I did not do anything to contribute to the resolution. So, it's ok with me to lock the thread.
