Why is it not possible to adjust the sound volume with the side keys buttons (up and down) on the left side at the phone anymore? This was possible before even if the screen was locked and unlocked.

Also having this problem once again, it was fine 24 hours ago. Restarting phone and Chromecast has made no difference, having to go into the home app to do this is a completely rubbish experience

Not OP but yes the problem still exists for me. It works in the Home app and only in the Home app when it is in focus.
Google Home Version: 2.53.15.3
When did it start? Day of my post, around 2 weeks ago
Occurs on any app that isn't the Google Home app
Haven't mirrored my android screen don't know how, but I was happy with the way things were working

If you've tried the troubleshooting steps, and the volume keys are still unresponsive outside the Google Home app, there may be a deeper issue. This has been a problem in the past, so hopefully our engineering team can look into this and resolve it again. If you have the time, would you be willing to submit feedback via the Google Home with logs enabled? That way, if there are errors being thrown by the Google Home app, our engineering team will have an easier time finding them.
