We changed our wifi router and now can’t connect to the chromecast

To add to the previous reply, you should factory reset your chromecast and start fresh, as changing networks really throws them for a loop!

Please try 5 common troubleshooting steps to resolve connectivity issues with your Chromecast.
 
Try Chromecast on the SAME 2.4 (Chromecast 1st gen requirement) Ghz frequency wifi router band as your Android devices
