Hey there,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you still having that Facebook casting issue? If so, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • Are you able to cast from the website?

  • Does this only happen with the Facebook apps?

  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

If the issue is happening specifically with the Facebook apps and no other, it may be best to reach out to their support for more specific help. I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,

Jeran

Hello, thank you for replying

This issue only happens when trying to cast from the Facebook app (consistently happens with both Facebook app AND Facebook gaming app). If I try to cast Facebook from my computer using chrome, it always works. YouTube cast always works too.

I have tried the the following:

-restart the phone, force stopping Facebook app and reopening, turning wifi Off and On, restarting chrome device (did not try resetting it, because resetting it everytime it happens is just impractical).

I didn't find a link for a support from Facebook, unfortunately.

If you have an idea that might be worth trying out please let me know

Thanks

Of course! I'll go ahead and suggest some steps that may help out if the issue isn't with the Facebook app itself:

  • Make sure Google Home and the Facebook apps are up-to-date.
  • Double-check to see if that app is Chromecast cast-enabled.
  • Uninstall and re-install the Facebook app.
  • If you have another device, check to see if the issue persists on the other device.

Aside from checking those things, you may also want to take a look at some common Chromecast connection issues. While not entirely relevant to your particular situation, it has some steps and items to make sure that the issue isn't the network.

I hope that helps! Let me know if you had any other questions.

Best regards,

Jeran

Yesterday the problem happened and I tried all those; checked if both Google home and Facebook app are up to date, reinstalled the Facebook app (the Facebook app is cast enabled because the problem happens sometimes (like right now it's working again, but yesterday it wasn't even after I tried so many things).

Although the cast button just wouldn't show up on the Facebook app, it was showing up and working on the YouTube app. I tried casting youtube and then going back to Facebook, but still the cast button didn't show up.

That is interesting that you can cast using the YouTube application, but not the Facebook one! I'm not sure if Facebook has a support number, but you may be able to submit a ticket or direct message them on their website. It seems the issue may be isolated to their app, unfortunately.
