Why i can’t cast from iOS?

Hello, so i have an issur right now.

i have an iphone 8, and a recently bought chromecast version 3. When i first got the chromecast it was updated to a newer version. Before that i had a chromecast 2 that had the same issue after it was updated.

 

so what happens is, i can edit the chromecast from the google home app, but when i open netflix, disney+ or even youtube, it can’t cast a single thing. On youtube app it doesn’t even show on the list. On netflix it shows that no device is encoutered, an then i have similar problems to ALL of the streaming apps.

 

i have an M1 Mac that i can cast through microsoft edge browser, but i really want to be able to cast from my cellphone. I have also tried an android, A moto G, an ipad and another cellphone and on neither of

them it works

Thanks for posting. Let's sort this out. 

 

A few questions  are you getting a message "No cast devices found"? Has there been any changes in your WiFi network? Are you using a dual band router?

 

Give these steps a try:

  1. Ensure your apps are all updated.
  2. Reboot your Chromecast.
  3. Reboot your router.
  4. Disable and enable (toggle) automatic time zone setting and restart your mobile device.
  5. Perform a factory reset on your Chromecast. Here's a guide: How to factory reset your Chromecast.
