YouTube on Chromecast stops playing with message "Sign in for the best YouTube experience"

YouTube on Chromecast started acting up recently:

  1. Randomly / occasionally it will stop playback and a prompt appears "Sign in for the best YouTube experience"
    Sign in for the best YouTube experience promptNeedless to say, I am signed in with my YouTube premium account. 
    I usually start playback using Home Assistant voice command, there are no controls to select or enter anything on my TV.
  2. Commands like "Search for press briefing on YouTube" stopped working correctly. Earlier they showed search results on Chromecast and I was able to say the number which video I wanted to play. Now it fails in random ways
    • Sometimes doesn't do anything
    • Sometimes it would say, here are the results, please choose, but nothing is shown on the TV
    • Sometimes it shows the result options, but stops listening to my choice
    • Sometimes it doesn't show the result, but lets me choose and starts playing the video if I say "Number 1" or any number (of course I cannot see the options)

I just found the fix elsewhere... whilst casting from the YouTube app if you tap the cast button it pops up a box asking if you want to disconnect (as it always did) but now there is an option to become a remote for the chromecast. I selected sign in and followed the instructions on screen. Fixed! Simple when you know how!

It's happening less often now. I hope they are fixing it eventually.

I selected sign in and followed the instructions on screen. Fixed! Simple when you know how!
