YouTube sign in chromcast 3rd gen

With an update chromecast (3rd Gen) keeps asking to sign into YouTube. This is solely controlled by a nest speaker and never casts from phone or computer (for my quadriplegic mom who cannot hold a phone or remote). How do I sign into her YouTube account (NOT YouTube tv)??

If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I can imagine this gets tricky when only controlling the Chromecast using a Nest speaker. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

• When did this issue start happening?
• Is she logged into her Google Account on the Google Home app?
• Is she logged into her Google Account on the YouTube app?
• What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
