Zoom Meeting Not Casting to TV

Pedro123

I was successfully casting my Zoom meetings to my Roku TV. But now I can't get Chromecast to display the front tab screen.

The meeting is accessed via email link. Once I have opened the link and clicked on the meeting in the front most tab screen, Chromecast only shows the rear or hidden tab screen. I have cast set to either "tab" or "screen" but makes no difference. I've tried this on a Mac and on a Win10 but no difference. Could Zoom be blocking casting of meeting? Anyone else had this problem?

Hey there Pedro123,

I apologize for the late response on this, thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that Zoom issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, let me just ask you a few questions to better understand the issue:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Is your Google Home app up-to-date?
  • Are you able to cast any other websites, such as YouTube?
  • What color is the LED light on the Chromecast device?

If the Chromecast device is throwing an error, it would show up via the LED light. I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran

Hey, thanks for reply. Issue started immediately after last Zoom update. I can cast no problem but am blocked out of Zoom session where the session video is on top. It is locked onto the initial Zoom login page. I have switched between "Cast Screen" and "Cast Tab" no change. Once the session starts I have no access on that page to the Chromecast icon to change. Casting works fine on other sites, including YouTube. Hope you can help.

Hey there Pedro123,

I know this response is long overdue, thanks again for your patience with us. Just out of curiosity, would you be able to test this from the Zoom Desktop Client rather than using the website version? I've seen some reports saying that the Desktop Client is a bit more stable than the web version when it comes to casting.

I look forward to hearing back from you, and if you have any more questions, please let me know.

Thank you,
Jeran
