We can’t stream Netflix or something else even tho the chromecast and phones are connected to the same wifi. Unplugging the chromecast and plugging it back in doesn’t work. Sometimes the chromecast does show up on Netflix but then it has troubles connecting. What can we do? Is this a wifi problem?

A few questions: what type of Chromecast device do you have? What's the LED status on your Chromecast? When did the issue start? Please clear the cache and data of the affected app and reinstall it. Rebooting your mobile phone and Wi-Fi router might also help.
If the issue persists, please reset your Chromecast.
