chromecast not streaming cameras thinks camera is off

I have a Chromecast with Google TV 4K and HD Same issue with both.  When I try and stream from one of my Nest camera (wired) 2Gen using the voice assistant, it completes the request but I only see a screen with a broken camera.  I can stream successfully on my phone and my nest hubs with the same command, but not on the Chromecasts.  I've factory reset the cameras, the Chromecasts, and restarted the router.  Not sure why only the Chromecasts think the cameras are off and everything else works great.

Same with me.  Cannot get it to stream on Chromecast.  Google told me to do a factory reset on Chromecast.  Did not work.  What a waste of time.

Same here. I tried streaming my Nest Doorbell camera and I got the same screen with the camera with the slash thru it.  Works fine viewing the camera from the phone, all on the same network.  Not sure if this is a new thing or an existing problem, as I just recently got the doorbell.

Thanks for the replies. It let me know I'm not the only one. Woke up and was gonna try and look at it some more and it all worked like it should. Voice assistant, Chromecast, all of it.  Now I can't duplicate the error so I'll be happy and take it for what it is.

Hey there swis_army_nife,

I'm just checking up on this thread, and I'm glad to hear that the issue was resolved for you! There was another thread that was experiencing the same issue, and I confirmed with them that it seemed to clear up overnight. However, just to be safe, if anyone is experiencing this issue still, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

Mine appears to be working now as well.

Hey there eorent,

Awesome, thank you for letting me know! In that case, I'll go ahead and leave the thread open over the weekend, and then I'll lock the thread if the issue stays cleared up.

Have a good weekend!

Thank you,
Jeran
