chromecast remote will not pair

hi everyone

came home today and tried to get viewing on our chrome cast. The remote was not responsive. The light was on but nothing was happening. It had power but I changed the batteries anyway. Next I tried pairing. Nothing. Next I reset the chrome cast voice remote (holding home while putting the batteries back in.) It just blinks endlessly. Next I reset the chrome cast with a soft reboot. Nothing. Now I did a hard reset. It is stuck at the set up screen since the remote will not work. I cannot connect it to the phone since the chromecast is in set up.

Any ideas on how to proceed?

Thanks for reaching out and for being a step ahead of us. Could you please try another reset on your Chromecast Voice Remote and Chromecast with Google TV dongle? Once done, attempt to set it up and test.

hi!

I did get to do it tonight.

both are factory reset

1. chromecast is asking to pair a remote

2. remote is pulsing white. trying to pair does nothing.
