completely frustarated with google tv remote AGAIN

4 devices now I have had to factory reset because google can not fix white flashing light pairing issue.

I can not not (will not) factory reset this one, just because it told me to change batteries.

This is simply not good enough, for over a year these problems have been popping up and NOTHING is ever done.

I tried the googletv app on 4 devices, EVERY SINGLE ONE on selecting device said enter 6 digit code displayed on tv even though it has NEVER displayed a code on any of the times I have tried, even so I only had 3 seconds to enter before it reverted back to select device.

As above, simply not good enough, so far every time a battery change or a remote 'falling over' means a factory reset

Hi wood8086,

 

That certainly hasn't been easy for you ―  let's sort this out.

 

A few questions: is this an initial set up or working previously? When did the issue start? Are you getting any messages when pairing the remote?

 

In the meantime, try these steps: 

 

  1. Forget the Chromecast Voice Remote. 
  2. Go to Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Chromecast Remote > Forget.
  3. Pair the remote. Go to Settings > Remotes and Accessories > Pair remote or accessory and follow the instructions on the TV. Note: If applicable, you may also press the button on the Chromecast device for 1 second for the pairing to start.

I understand that you don't want to reset your device, however resetting your device to default settings is the next best step. Give it a try!
