stuttering chromecast

Hi,

Having issues watching streamed service from computer to tv using casting and similar using a streaming app on tv. About every 20-30 seconds there is a second or so stop . Help please-is this my android tv or my wifi? Sorry senior citizen lacking in technical knowledge.

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • Does this only happen with one particular app/website, or many?
  • Is your Chromecast's firmware up-to-date?
  • Is your Google Home app up-to-date?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

Hi Jeran,

Thank you for your reply. Tried turning the moderm off and on. I am not very technical. The buffering is happening with one app in particular, SkysportNow both being cast from my mac laptop and from my app on my TCL TV.

Of course! Here are some steps I can recommend for now when you run into this issue, some steps may only apply when you are casting from your Mac laptop:

  • Disconnect the cast session and then re-cast.
  • Toggle Wi-Fi off/on the casting device.
  • Exit any battery-draining applications that are running.
  • Turn off power saving mode.
  • Decrease the distance between the TV, casting device, and Wi-Fi router.
  • Confirm that the Chrome browser, device operating system, and Chromecast Firmware are up-to-date.
  • Reboot the Chromecast.

I hope that helps out! However, if the issue keeps occurring, and it's only with Sky Sport Now, it may be worth reaching out to their support to see if they are aware of any issues going on.
