tab/desktop cast doesn't work

I want to cast my screen to chromecast in chrome browser, but cast doesn't work.

I tried several times, but screen is mirrored just first few seconds, and the screen stopped.

How can I cast my desktop screen to TV?

I have the same issue. I have a chromecast TV and a desktop computer I'd like to cast but no dice. It only mirrors the first 5 seconds or so and then freezes. I hope this post gains traction because I'm at a lost. Same wifi, updated firmware, decent hardware ... If anyone has any idea what we're missing, please let us know.

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient on this! Were you able to fix that radio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, as I can imagine this issue is pretty frustrating to deal with. Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

  • When did this issue start happening?
  • What version of Google Chrome are you using?
  • Does this happen on one site in particular, or all sites?
  • What color is the LED light on the Chromecast when this happens?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?

Hey Jeran,

I'm sorry, I haven't tried it since. The issue was always there, and I've never had a successful run. I am currently running Version 99.0.4844.82 (Official Build) (64-bit), but I am not sure what version I was on when I was having issues casting. I've tried all available trouble shooting steps from this page: https://support.google.com/googletv/answer/10049912?hl=en

I've also tried it with Google Canary, no dice. 

If I try again, I will post my results here, but I have since given away my Google TV because it didn't fulfil my use case.

No problem at all, thank you for letting me know! I can understand giving the device away if it isn't working out for you. If you do run into any more issues regarding anything Chromecast, feel free to create a new thread on it, and we can look into it faster than we did on this thread.
