Google Home routines for Motion and Contact sensors

mc
Community Member

Google is doing well with general voice commands however with regard to home automation I'd like to know where the controls are to enable routines for Motion and Contact.

I've found it very limiting using Google for my home automation add I'm unable make use of door/window sensors even with 3rd party work arounds.

Any ideas as to when/Google might add these features? The number of things that play nice with Google is very limited.

Thank you. I submitted my feedback using what you shared as well.

Is there any existing method of integrating with motion or contact sensor available that I'm unaware?

Google is garbage for automation, if you want these features you need to get Alexa. Alexa doesn't support everything but it's better that google. I bought cheap tuya ZigBee sensors for about 25$ each, along with a zigbee hub also around 25$ Alexa should be able to do what you want. I got this sensor

Hi mc,

Thanks for your patience and apologies about the delay. At this time, there are no alternative suggestions I can share but do know sending in feedback, (which you did, so thank you!) is super helpful so our team has this information.

I recommend staying tuned to our different social channels for updates as new features become available. Thanks again!
